Q. How can we access our Discussion blog for the first time?

A. The option to edit your Discussion blog will not show up in the left column of your Discussion home page until the Moderator turns on access to it.

To make your Discussion blog visible, one of the Discussion moderators needs to:

• Click Edit Discussion from the left sidebar
• Select Discussion Privacy Settings
• Find which type of Discussion yours is (there will be a black circle to indicate what is selected) and in that row of settings, click customize these options
• From the Who can edit row, choose whether you wish to have only Discussion participants edit your blog (the usual choice) or, if you wish, choose to let anyone on the CN edit the blog.
• If you wish to have your blog be only for Discussion members, you can change the who can view column from letting everyone see it to just allowing Discussion members to do so.

Once this is done, Edit blog will appear in the left column until someone posts something, in which case Blog will also show up, so others can view it.
